Erika is a Masters level art therapy and counseling intern at Albertus Magnus College. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Central Connecticut State University, endorsed in PK-12 Art Education, a Master of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport, and a Sixth Year in TESOL awarded by Fairfield University. She has been a fine arts educator for 17 years in both Bridgeport and currently in Stamford Public Schools. She is a TEAM mentor for new teachers and a Postpartum Support International Connecticut Chapter committee member building a community around maternal mental health in Fairfield County. Erika has also volunteered with Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s Toy Closet for the past 8 years, giving back to charity year-round. She is also a mom of an elementary-aged child. She loves to paint, sculpt, and play guitar in her free time. She believes art therapy can help individuals express and process emotions, gain insight, and promote healing and personal growth through creative expression.
