Janet Scanlon, MBA, MA, LPCA

Janet is a compassionate and active listener, with a client-centered focus. She specializes in a wellness-based approach, including self-care, exercise, sleep hygiene, and meditation. Janet is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), helping clients adjust negative thought patterns to alter behaviors. She assists families to work through challenging dynamics and develop a sustainable support system. She utilizes a solution-focused approach to encourage self-advocacy.

Janet’s clinical experience includes working with a diverse population and a wide range of ages on adjustment disorders, anxiety/depression, eating disorders, executive functioning, and substance use. Janet actively supports the LGBTQ+ community. She has been a dedicated volunteer leading bereavement groups and stress management support groups at high schools and colleges in Fairfield County.

Janet received her MA in counseling at Fairfield University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) and a member of the American Counseling Association. She earned an MBA in marketing from the London Business School and a BA from Boston College. Prior to her counseling career, Janet worked in senior management roles with cross-cultural teams in domestic and international corporate settings. Janet’s hobbies include tennis, walks with her golden retriever, and traveling with her family.
