Kristin Bodenheimer, MA, BCBA

Kristin is a board certified and state licensed behavior analyst (BCBA) and has been in the field of applied behavior analysis (ABA) for almost 10 years. Her passion for working with and helping children and adolescents guided her decision to pursue an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. Prior to graduating Kristin held two internships with private ABA therapy companies and became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in 2014. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2015, she worked as a RBT at a private therapy company and Teaching Assistant at New Canaan Public Schools. While gaining experience in these roles, Kristin’s enthusiasm for teaching children and supporting their caregivers grew stronger which led her to obtain a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism through Ball State University. Kristin graduated in May 2018 and passed the behavior analysis certification exam in August 2018.

From 2018 – 2022 Kristin was a BCBA for the New Canaan Public School System and Redding Public School System, along with a BCBA for a private therapy company while providing supervision for two BCBA candidates. She has worked with students ranging in age from three to twenty with a variety of abilities. Kristin has experience in conducting functional behavior assessments, creating behavior intervention plans, and evaluating skill repertoires through assessments such as, Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS). Kristin worked closely with multidisciplinary teams and outside providers to design appropriate goals and objectives for students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that targeted social skills, academic skills, daily living skills, and emotion/behavior regulation skills. Kristin developed strong and trusting relationships with clients’ families along with school staff members and has provided parent and staff training to assist with the generalization and maintenance of skills across settings. She values collaborating with all important stakeholders to provide the most comprehensive treatment plans. Kristin’s highest priority is being an ethical professional and acting in the client’s best interest by developing the most effective interventions that are both evidence-based and individualized for each of her clients
