Lisa Dobey, PhD, NCSP

Lisa Dobey is a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, and their parents. Prior to joining the team at Sasco River Center, Dr. Dobey worked as a school psychologist in public schools in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, and as a clinical supervisor at Aspire Living and Learning Academy where she supervised school psychologists, social workers, and interns providing special education services to students K-12.

Dr. Dobey has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and those with disruptive behaviors. She has also worked with children who have experienced trauma, and has received training in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). Dr. Dobey utilizes a variety of approaches to therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

In addition to therapy, Dr. Dobey completes psychoeducational assessments to identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses, and to provide recommendations for treatment and instructional programming.

Dr. Dobey holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University, and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut. In addition to being a licensed psychologist, Dr. Dobey is also a nationally and Connecticut state certified school psychologist.
