Whitney is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in working with children. She spent over 10 years working as a school psychologist in public schools in Fairfield County, giving her a unique insight into one of the primary environments in which children function, as well as the evaluation process for special education and 504 eligibility and plan development. Whitney conducts comprehensive evaluations to determine children’s unique learning and/or social emotional needs and develop recommendations to support them. She specializes in working with children and adolescents with anxiety, learning disabilities, ADHD, depression, OCD, school refusal, and selective mutism, and in working with children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disorders. Currently, Whitney also works in private practice providing individual and group therapy, conducting evaluations, consulting to schools, and working with parents to address parenting or behavioral concerns.
Whitney received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude. She received graduate training at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University where she obtained her master’s degree in School Psychology in 2007 and her doctorate in Combined School-Clinical Psychology in 2010 with a concentration in Early Childhood.
